Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 15 (since 1993). His first release along side frequent studio partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be in the studio before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder. After their first release aired they quickly picked up a wealth of dj support on their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo beats and Samurai Music. By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix cd’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G. Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the BBC radio 1 shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio & Bailey on their respective slots over the years. His DJ work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Budapest, Tel-Aviv to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK wide.

Fast forward to 2013 and Ant is now solely responsible for the running & label manager role of Dispatch Recordings; having released a mix CD compilation, the hugely successful “Transit One” album in 2011 (which topped almost all the usual stores weekly dance music sales charts across all formats) as well as a fine list of consistently quality single and EP releases from the likes of Survival, Break, Octane & DLR , Marcus Intalex, Commix, AI, Chris SU, Zero T, Cern, Dabs, Skeptical, Dub Phizix, Spinline, himself (and many more). Ant has recently remixed material for the likes of Lomax (Loadstar), Sunchase, Cern & Dabs as well as having his own solo work remixed by rising star Xtrah and working on further collabs with the likes of Survival and DLR. Ant also continues to run his own monthly night at ‘Momentum’ in Leeds (which is headed into it’s 10th year) as well as managing the renowned Metalheadz label & it’s events worldwide (for none other than the D&B legend that is Goldie) and still continuing to dj across the globe on an ever-frequent basis.

BACHELORS of SCIENCE

As long-time residents of the weird and always unexpected city of San Francisco, Bachelors Of Science are renowned for mixing up and making unique blends of laid back, tripped-out, soul drenched tracks that are designed to be listened to as well as just heard on the floor. Choosing quality over quantity, they are regarded as one of the most consistently innovative and sought-after remixers and producers of the area, working with everyone from dance music legends Groove Armada and Paradox to indie darlings Home Video and Silver Swans.

With their own productions, the Bachelors continue to defy those that try to categorize them into a genre. From the deep liquid drum n bass inspired by their hometown of London and the likes of High Contrast and LTJ Bukem to the minimal inspired Autonomic sounds of dBridge and sun-drenched 4/4 grooves inspired by fellow SF locals Dirtybird … the Bachelors have retained their quality and a large and loyal following throughout, garnering plays from Annie Mac, Basement Jaxx, LTJ Bukem, High Contrast, Loxy, Doc Scott, DJ Hype, Reid Speed, Alix Perez, Grooverider and DJ Marky.

Their debut album “Science Fiction” released in 2008 to critical and commercial acclaim, became one of the top selling drum n bass albums of all time, with “Song For Lovers” and “The Ice Dance” becoming liquid drum n bass anthems and the Apex remix of “Strings Track” eventually winning “Best Drum n Bass Track” at the 2009 Beatport Awards. More recent remixes of The XX, Home Video, Death Cab For Cutie, Groove Armada and Seasick Steve have won praise across the music blogoshpere, placing them atop the Hype Machine chart for weeks in a row.

On stage, the tales of the “full Bachelors Of Science set” are the stuff of legend. Having performed alongside acts as diverse as Pendulum, LTJ Bukem, High Contrast, Kode9, Photek and even Elvis Costello, the guys take a crowd on a journey with everything from BoS originals and bootlegs to custom edits of cutting edge tracks and past future classics … making d&b guys admit they’ve got a soft spot for 4/4, and house lovin girls admit they miss drum n bass.

++ Honing his skills since 2001, Joey Mojo stuck close to his first loves, drum and bass and turntablism, but it’s obvious that he’s heavily influenced by funk, rock and reggae. He prides himself on his eclectic musical choices and DJing styles, which show evidence of his growing up in Los Angeles and moving to the Bay Area.

After almost 12 years of being active in the scene, Joey Mojo shows no signs of slowing down. His musical tastes, much like his style and skill have evolved and now incorporate elements of hip-hop, drumstep, dubstep, reggae and dancehall. He also attends San Francisco State University, where he’s studying music business and music production.
